1st of December, time to decorate

Ali Coghlan Christmas Snowflake Decorations Get Crafty Book

Happy 1st of December. It’s officially the month of festive celebrations which means it’s now time to start decorating the house.Over the next few weeks I will be sharing with you some crafty ideas on how you can decorate your house this Christmas on a budget.

To kick off, here’s a video below I made last year on how to make hanging paper snowflake decorations.

These may look complicated, but trust me they are actually really easy once you get your head around the technique.

All you need to make them is card, glue (pritt stick is fine)  a scissors and some string or ribbon to hang them.

In this video I made them in blue, but you can make them in any colours you like depending on what colours you are decorating with this year. They look particularly well in red and green as seen in the pictures above and below taken from my upcoming craft book ‘Get Crafty’ (out March 2016) where I make them in Christmas colours. Photo Credits:Alan Rowlette Photography. White is also really pretty too if you don’t have any coloured card.

This is a perfect craft for children aged 7-12 and with the weather like it is at the moment this would easily fill a few hours on a rainy afternoon.

Hope you enjoy the video, please let me know how you get on and send me some pictures if you do make them to I would love to see them.
